Pro Day at Nucii

This month’s Pro Day at Nucii brought children together for a hands-on day of planting, painting, and learning.

Participants painted flowerpots to take home while also helping plant flower beds around the Nucii building.

Along the way, children learned about teamwork, gardening, and caring for shared spaces.

“May’s pro day was a fun and hands-on experience for the children at Nucii. The Uchucklesaht children spent the day getting their hands dirty in the soil while learning about planting and caring for flowers. They painted and planted flowerpots to take home and watch grow”, said Amanda Walton, Human Services Clerk at UTG.

“The children also helped Human Services plant the outdoor flower beds. They learned to choose the right place for each flower based on how big and tall the plants will grow. It was a great day filled with teamwork, learning, and creativity while helping make the courtyard beautiful”.

The day blended creativity, learning, and community while helping brighten the courtyard for summer.

Small activities like these help children build confidence, care for their surroundings, and feel connected to community spaces.
